I had six years of Spanish and only remember some of it. .I can understand it. if they speak slow enough or I can read it and grasp large parts of what I'm reading.. Great language! We live in Ca.. Online there are some translator sites. From English to Spanish and visa versa.. Other languages are included and it's free.. Just forgot the site.. Google under language translator. My son is taking German next year. Spanish is spoken more than German in Ca..but he wants to work in Switzerland with his uncle after a yr. of H.S. German and Chemistry..

aqui- here
Donde esta ______? where is ______?
como estas?- how are you
Estoy bien- I'm good
estoy consada- i'm tired
estoy enfermo- I'm sick
te amo- i love you

ALL OF THEM! =D Why not try to speak the whole language? I'm trying to learn more myself lol. I wish I would've learned it earlier! Other phrases are:

Pollo asado - roasted chicken (just don't ask lol)
Claro que sí - Of course
Claro que no - Of course not
Creo que sí - I think so/I believe so.
Creo que no - I don't think so/ I don't believe so.
OYE! - HEY!
Nos vemos - "We will meet" also known as "See you later!"

Typically when starting off you would learn phrases such as good morning, good night, hello, goodybe etc. These words would allow you to carry on a simple conversation. I would know how to introduce myself (Yo soy... or Me llamo es) ask someone how they are (Como estas?) It is also a good idea to learn some of the common verbs such as gustar( to like) mirar(to watch) voy (to go) by learning these types of verbs you will be able to understand what is going on while someone is talking.
